The Informatica INFORM partner network only started up in April and since then I've counted three MDM vendors joining: Orchestra in April and Siperian and Initiate this month at Informatica World. It would be rude of Informatica to invite a number of MDM vendors into INFORM only to acquire one of them and compete with the others. They also have a long standing relationship with Teradata on MDM (FOCUS).

Siperian announced a new strategic partnership with long time partner Trillium from the Trillium EMEA conference on Friday where they were a major sponsor. Trillium has been selling a Siperian connector for some time. Trillium have already tied up the Oracle MDM exclusive partnership as part of the Oracle data integration suite to show how Informatica has some competition for MDM partnerships.

Time will tell of course, but I'm not sure I read the same significance into this release, seeing that they made the exact same announcement back in April, only this time with Orchestra Networks:

Does this release say, "Siperian is our MDM strategy moving forward"? If so, why the previous release? Or, does this release say "We're the biggest independent integration vendor and we want to work successfully with all independent MDM solutions and bring them into the INFORM fold"?
