Stylish MDM

We have recently completed a major survey into the deployment styles used in MDM implementations. My colleague Dave Waddington has recently posted a summary of the results here. As can be seen, MDM projects are turning out to be quite meaty in size, but encouragingly the sucess rates were higher than I was expecting.

There were several quite interesting results that came out, and we will be doing further research into this area. The full report can be purchased from our website.

  1. Hi Andy,

Integeresting results. The take-up of federated MDM is interesting, but not surprising, given the overlap between MDM and data governance. the People who own the data already fit into some organization, so it seems natural that the MDM hub for “their” data should be locally controlled.

What I’d like to know is how many companies have created a “data organization” that is separate from the functional/process organization (and how many business professionals are dedicated to looking after data as their only job).

    got any thoughts on this?

  2. Interesting results! Wondering if the final report has the split between off-the-shelf purchased MDM products vs built or assembled by the organization
